Energy Impact Illinois
Megan Butler the Local representative for Energy Impact Illinois spoke to our club on Wednesday August 29 and introduced us all to a federally funded program that will help us make our homes more energy efficient and comfortable while saving us money at the same time!
As a fairly new program the government will provide instant rebates up to $1,750, & low percentage loans to homeowners who are willing to willing to make their homes more energy efficient and reduce their environmental imprint. The money saved over time through reduced energy costs pays for any out of pocket expense a home owner may experience while participating in the program. Plus the upgrades are there for life!
The program focuses on house insulation which is one of the biggest contributors to energy lost in a home. Certified contractors will come in and conduct an energy assessment of a home, showing the home owner where homes lose energy and what they can do to stop that loss.
