Looking back at 2011 a lot of good things have happened for the Rotary Club of Carpentersville-Morning, which doesn’t go without saying we have had some struggles as well. The good thing is the good outweigh the bad! We are definitely moving in the right direction!

Accomplishments for 2011 include:

-          3rd Annual Operation Warm: In our 3rd year of Operation Warm, which provides brand new warm winter coats to local needy children, we were able to raise enough money for and distribute over 350 coats which is 3 times the amount of our 1st year back in 2009! Definitely a growing success!

-          2nd Annual Rotary Pub Crawl: Growing into a great annual fundraiser this Pub Crawl just gets better every year. September 2012 SAVE THE DATE!

-          Adopt a Highway: Like many other local responsible companies, organizations, and citizens we adopted a local highway which we plan to maintain 3 to 4 times a year.

-          Oktoberfest: With fresh cider doughnuts and all the appropriate drinks to go with it, not to mention Race Twinkies and a chance at a PSP game console our participation in this year’s local Oktoberfest event was another great success. We will be back!

-          Donations: Throughout the year we make various donations which include fines and happy dollars to the F.I.S.H. food pantry monthly, new book donations to the children’s section of the Dundee Township Library in the name of every speaker that comes speak to our club, donations to support fellow Rotarians in their quest to bring clean water sources to rural areas in Africa, contributions to the Rotary End Polio Now Campaign and any opportunity to donate our time to help others out!

-          Carpentersville Paint-A-Thon: We gladly participated in the Paint-A-Thon for the 1st time in 2011 and we can definitely say we had a great time on a perfect day and overwhelmed the difference it made for everyone involved.

-          Patriot Day Parade: For the 10th Anniversary of the 9/11 the Rotary Club of Carpentersville-Morning was glad to participate in the local parade to respect, remember and honor those were affected on that day.

-          New School Supplies: Through the grace of each of our members we were able to collect a good amount of new school supplies to donate the Boys and Girls Club of Dundee Township right before the start of the new school year.

Volunteering!

What to look for in 2012!

We would be lying to say there was not much to expect in 2012 but there is definitely a lot to look forward to! Things like: Operation Warm 2012, Rotary Pub Crawl 3.0, participation at LITH Rib Fest 2012, Oktoberfest 2012, Highway clean up, a member service trip to Guatemala, Spring or Fall Carnival, School Supplies Drive 2012, C’ville Oktoberfest 2012, possible wine tasting event, Easter Dinner for local needy families, possible community breakfast or dinner event and whatever else may come our way! This will definitely be the busiest year for our young club of 3 years! Exciting!
